Transport Options at AGP

Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is connected to Málaga and the wider Spain transport network by multiple ground transport options.

Rail & Metro

The C1 Cercanías suburban train runs directly from a station beside Terminal 3 to central Málaga (María Zambrano station) in about 8-11 minutes, roughly every 20 minutes; a single ticket costs only a few euros plus a small one-off reloadable-card fee. Note there is no metro link to the airport (see tip).

Bus & Shuttle

Airport bus line A (Consorcio de Transportes) runs from outside arrivals to Málaga city center (Alameda Principal) in around 20-30 minutes; other regional buses reach nearby Costa del Sol towns such as Torremolinos and Fuengirola.

Taxi

Metered taxis with posted reference fares wait outside arrivals; a ride to central Málaga typically costs roughly €20-25 and takes 15-20 minutes, with higher fixed rates to Marbella, Fuengirola, and other coastal towns.

Rideshare

Uber and Cabify both operate at Málaga airport from a designated pickup zone, though pricing can climb sharply during surge periods, especially in peak summer season.

Car Rental

Málaga is one of Spain's busiest car-rental hubs, with all major companies operating from a dedicated rental center a short walk or shuttle ride from the terminal.

Insider tip

Despite long-standing plans to extend Málaga's Metro Line 2 to the airport, that extension has still not opened as of 2026 — the Cercanías C1 train is the only rail link, so don't go looking for a metro station at the terminal (some outdated blog posts still claim one exists).
