History
Motor Sich Airlines was established in 1984 as the in-house carrier of the Motor Sich aircraft-engine manufacturer in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, flying Antonov turboprops (An-24/An-26/An-12) on domestic and CIS routes. It was briefly banned from EU airspace over safety concerns, a ban lifted in 2009.
Current Operations
Since Russia's February 2022 invasion closed Ukrainian civil airspace, the airline has suspended all passenger flying and continues only limited cargo operations; its parent company was placed under Ukrainian state wartime administration in 2022 amid a treason investigation into its former leadership.
