Air Nippon (ANK) was founded on March 13, 1974 in Tokyo and grew into a major regional and domestic subsidiary of All Nippon Airways (ANA), operating flights under its own ICAO/callsign identity but heavily integrated with the ANA network.

Air Nippon no longer exists as a separate entity: its regional arm Air Nippon Network was folded into ANA Wings on October 1, 2010, and Air Nippon itself was fully merged into parent All Nippon Airways on April 1, 2012.
