History
Hawkair Aviation Services was founded in 1994 in Terrace, British Columbia, initially as an air-freight operator before launching scheduled passenger service in 2000 and growing into a regional carrier across northern British Columbia. It filed for bankruptcy protection in 2005 and was subsequently acquired by the parent company of Central Mountain Air in 2010.
Current Operations
Hawkair does not operate today. It suspended scheduled passenger service in February 2012 amid financial difficulties on its Vancouver-Terrace routes and was fully liquidated in bankruptcy proceedings by 2016.
