History

Air Choice One traced its roots to Multi-Aero Inc., founded in 1979 in the St. Louis area, which built a niche flying Essential Air Service (EAS) routes for small Midwestern communities under the Air Choice One brand. The carrier used IATA code 3E for most of its life before Southern Airways Corporation acquired it on March 28, 2022.

Current Operations

Air Choice One ceased operating under its own brand on July 2, 2022, when Southern Airways folded its EAS routes into Southern Airways Express; it formally surrendered its FAA carrier certificate in December 2023. Its flights, mainly single-engine Cessna 208B Caravan service from hubs such as St. Louis Lambert, were absorbed into Southern Airways Express's network, and IATA has since reassigned the 3E code to an unrelated Bulgarian carrier, Electra Airways.
